Craig Hartman - Managing Director 

Combining experience as a professional sports coach and marketing qualifications and expertise, Craig Hartman provided business consultancy to sporting organisations before focusing his skills within the workers compensation industry and founding Hartman Thomas in 2004.

He now has more than ten years experience in the workers compensation industry and, in the last five years, has personally overseen the development and delivery of state based and national outsourced OHS and workers compensation solutions to business.

Craig understands that to be successful, Hartman Thomas must be responsive to client needs. He is driven by the challenge of evolving and adapting our business and services to meet the needs of an ever changing business environment.

The unique combination of experience in marketing, coaching professional sport, workers compensation, OHS, along with strong business acumen, has provided the foundation for Craig to grow Hartman Thomas to be a leader in the provision of national risk management solutions.

Craig holds a Masters of Science (Kinesiology) and a Bachelor of Science (Marketing) and is a Certified Professional Sport Coach.  He is a member of the National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) and the Safety Institute of Australia (MSIA).

Craig is also on the Board of community owned, not-for-profit National Basketball League club, the Cairns Taipans, where he has responsibility for basketball operations.

Wendy Stevens - National Manager 

Wendy Stevens has over 20 years experience as an occupational health and safety (OHS) manager and in senior OHS consulting roles.

Wendy has extensive experience with government and large self insured organisations and knows what is required to achieve and maintain self insured status. She also understands the commercial realities of running a business and is absolutely committed to providing high quality, tailored services that fit individual business needs and budgets.

Wendy’s consulting and management experience, coupled with a commitment to provide the best outcome for clients, positions her perfectly to lead a team that is capable of delivering OHS and workers compensation solutions for businesses of any size or in any industry.

Wendy has a Graduate Diploma, Occupational Health and Safety Management and has a range of specialist qualifications and skills including:

  • AS/NZS ISO 9001 and 9002 Quality Systems Auditing

  • OHS Internal/External Auditor

  • Accident/Incident Investigation

  • OHSW and Injury Management Systems Development & Management

  • Governance & Policy Development

  • OHS Systems Performance Monitoring and Interpretation
